Rock the Boat (Stimulated Remix)

I did this remix a long time ago… Sometime in 2005 I think. I missed Aaliyah. I still miss Aaliyah. I had been a fan ever since One in a Million. Timbaland changed my life well before One in a Million dropped, but One in Million put the nail in the coffin. Every album since was a must buy for me.

I really missed the sound and songs that could only come from Missy, Static, Timb’ and Aaliyah. I wanted to do some sort of tribute… I wanted to bring Aaliyah back in some way and the result is this remix.

I tried to remix a few other Aaliyah songs before I decided to do Rock the Boat, but they weren’t coming out too hot. Rock the Boat was a sexy song and I was a bit hesitant at first, but as it progressed I felt better about it. Like most of my other remixes, its a bit laid back and very percussive with a hint of island flavor. It’s really simple. I tried not to add too many elements. I wanted the focus to be on the singer. I hope you enjoy it.
